I was watching a video on Facebook where a host was asking the public a question…
“Separation from India was a good decision or not?”
Is that even a question? But to my surprise, some people said that we shouldn’t have separated. I think they don’t know what a blessing it is to breathe in free air. They don’t understand what this freedom took from our ancestors. Everything, they sacrificed each and everything for this freedom, to ensure that we live in a place where we can go to mosques freely, where we can go out without fear of not being able to return, where we can eat without worrying if it’s halal or not, where we can wear a hijab without any kind of abuse, where we have the human rights that they didn’t have. We may take all this for granted but come to think of it and you’ll realize how blessed we are for having an independent country.
If you still can’t appreciate it, ask our Palestinian brothers to let you know what freedom is, ask our Kashmiri sisters to enlighten you of your luck to be able to be with your family, ask our Afghani brothers what it’s like living in that fear when there’s the sound of guns all around, ask our Uyghur fellows to tell you what slavery brings, ask our Muslim brothers in non-Muslim countries to tell you that happiness of finding a halal certified restaurant and ask our sisters there to make you aware of that sense of being an outcast and being avoided just because of their headscarf. I think this is enough to make you all appreciate our freedom, to have a strong sense of responsibility to do something for the country that gave us our identity, to love our motherland, our hope, and our love, Pakistan.
So what else can we say besides:
