360 NATIONAL ISLAMIC TALENT HUNT COMPETITION ’22

The University of Health Sciences Lahore is an institution that acknowledges, promotes and
advocates Islamic talent in the youth of Pakistan. With the support of our proactive faculty,
students and representative affiliated bodies we will be arranging a National Talent hunt in
collaboration with 360 Muslim Experts while utilizing the efforts of the UHS Iqbal and Sunnah society and UHS DEBATES SOCIETY
PURPOSE
To provide an outlet for Islamic discussion and argumentation in a healthy environment,
for an intellectual exchange of ideas on the selected topics concerning the main issues
in our society, potentially leading to effective solutions in the light of Islam.

1. “And for women are rights over men, similar to those of men over women.”
2. Terrorism is an anti-thesis of Islam, yet the result is Islamophobia
3. True healers follow Islamic medical ethics, not Pakistani medical ethics

RULES
• The speech must be original, and must not have been previously delivered in public
in any national or local event.
• Each team must have at least one and maximum 2 speakers each for English and
Urdu.
• Paper reading is highly discouraged. Carrying written material in any form will lead to
a strict penalty.
• Judging criteria for Declamation include:
o Content;
o Pronunciation;
o Orating skills;
• Each contestant will be awarded points out of 30 with 10 points allocated per
criterion.
• Speeches must be at least 3 minutes but not more than 5 minutes in duration. The
first bell will ring after the third minute, followed by a second bell after the fifth minute.
• Any contestant delivering a speech longer than 6 minutes will be disqualified.
• Speakers who use obscene or vulgar language will be disqualified and the
concerned authorities at the speaker’s institute will be notified of this behavior.
• Use of props or other items to demonstrate a viewpoint at any point during a speech
is strictly prohibited.
• Discrimination against race, religion, sex, caste or group will lead to disqualification.
• Any gesture made must be within the context of speech, shouting or very high pitch

Venue: UHS Auditorium, Lahore
Chief Guest: Prof. Javed Akram (Vice Chancellor UHS)
President, Vice President and general secretary of the aforementioned societies will
have additional protocol to share stage with the winner.
2 Students can participate from each medical or nursing or allied health sciences college affiliated with uHS in each category.
